Blockbuster James Graham’s show, Labour of Love at the Noel Coward Theatre will be followed by another exciting revival by the Michael Grandage Company. In the year 2009, the show Red has made its original premiere at the Donmar Warehouse. Now, the John Logan’s spectacular London show is all set to makes its return at the London Westend at Wyndham’s Theatre for a strictly limited season.

The role of Mark Rothko is reprised by Alfred Molina who has appeared in the original production also and was nominated for multiple Olivier Awards. The blockbuster show was later transferred to Broadway, where the show won six Tony Awards including Best Play, Best Featured Actor in a Play for Eddie Redmayne and Best Direction of a Play for Michael Grandage.

The show Red is about a popular American abstract expressionist artist Mark Rothko during late 1950s. He has been assigned a challenging task of forming a group of murals for the elitist Four Seasons restaurant. In this task, he also enlists the help of his assistant Ken but is under huge pressure of developing a piece of work.  

Alfred Molina renowned for some great works like Spider-Man 2, Raiders of the Lost Ark is all set to reprising his role. The newcomer Alfred Enoch has joined him and known for some great works as his his role as Dean in the Harry Potter series, as well as How to Get Away with Murder and Coriolanus at the Donmar Warehouse.

Under the superb direction of Michael Grandage, who has also directed the original one, Red is certainly an enjoyable show to go for. The brilliant production also witnesses the union of Grandage and the play’s writer John Logan after the success of Peter and Alice in the year 2013. The show, Peter and Alice starred Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw.

The exciting new show, Red is all set to make its re-entry in London Westend for a strictly limited season at Wyndham’s Theatre, and will run from May 15th to July 28th 2018. The previews of the show will commence from May 4th 2018. The new season will bring some other interesting shows from the Michael Grandage Company’s production house such as The Lieutenant of Inishmore, starring Aidan Turner.
