London Westend with brilliant musical, Mary Poppins along with adorable Zizi
Strallen. Disney musical Mary Poppins is all set to make its return at the
Prince Edward Theatre. The show was originally premiered at Prince Edward
Theatre in the year 2004 starring Laura Michelle Kelly. Mary Poppins is all set to replace another
chartbusting musical, Aladdin from 23 October 2019.
The show is based
on Walt Disney’s immensely loved 1964 movie starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van
Dyke. Mary Poppins is a thrilling story about magical nanny Mary Poppins and
her arrival in the Banks family for assistance. In order to help Jane and Michael,
along with their parents both Mary and Bert, team for a memorable and thrilling
feature some great chartbusting numbers such as “Practically Perfect”, “A
Spoonful of Sugar”, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and “Chim Chim
Cher-ee” etc. The show also features a book by Downton Abbey’s Julian Fellowes.

The role of Mary
Poppins is portrayed by Zizi Strallen who is all set to reprise her role after
the 2015 UK tour. She is known for some wonderful shows such as Strictly
Ballroom the Musical at the Piccadilly Theatre and Follies at the National
Theatre. The role of Bert is portrayed by Charlie Stemp who has made London
appearance in Half a Sixpence and Dick Whittington, whereas on Broadway in
Under the superb
direction of Richard Eyre, with co-direction and choreography by Matthew Bourne
and co-choreography by Stephen Mear, the show is a must watch for all. The creative
team of the show includes designer Bob Crowley, lighting designer Natasha Katz
and sound designer Paul Gatehouse. The production also features orchestrations
by William David Brohn.
