Get ready to
catch the timeless creation of one of the greatest playwrights, Charles
Dickens, of the time at the magnificent Noel Coward Theatre! Sensational
blockbuster London show, A Christmas Carol will feature Jim Broadbent, the
popular British film and theatre legend.
The all time
loved saga of Ebenezer Scoorge’s transformation from a miser to do-gooder is
all set to make an entry into the London Westend this festive season. Inspired
from the Dickens’ novella, the sensation new show has been directed by Phelim
McDermot, Olivier award-winning Artistic Director of Improbable Theatre Company.
The story of A
Christmas Carol commences on a bitter Christmas Eve. The major protagonist, Scrooge
has been visited by tortured ghost of his greedy former partner, Jacob Marley.
He is also visited by ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Yet to Come. The
heart touching voyage of Scrooge leads to the encounter of some exciting
characters such as Mr. Fezziwig to Bob Crachit and Tiny Time.
After a
successful film career, Academy award winner Jim Broadbent is making its return
as Scrooge to the London Westend. Some of his popular movies are Iris (2001),
Moulin Rouge! (2001) and the Harry Potter films. Enjoy some of the spectacular
and wonderful spectacle under the superb direction of Olivier award winning
director of Movement, Toby Sedgwick.
A Christmas
Carol is trying to maintain the real spirit of Christmas as 50p per ticket will
be given by the The Mackintosh Foundation to the St-Martin-In-The-Fields
Christmas Appeal which provides homeless people with shelter, food and
guidance. On 30th November 2015, the show will mark its opening at
the Noel Coward Theatre!
