New Cast of The Phantom of The Opera


The award winning London show, The Phantom of the Opera is running with packed houses at the magnificent Her Majesty’s Theatre! The new star cast of The Phantom of the Opera is joined by Ben Lewis from 4 September portraying the role of ‘The Phantom’. Other cast members of the London show are Kelly Mathieson as ‘Christine Daaé’ and Jeremey Taylor as ‘Raoul’, whereas Amy Manford as the alternate ‘Christine Daaé’,

In the original Australian production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s, “Love Never Dies”, Ben Lewis portrayed the role of‘The Phantom’. Some of the recent works of Ben are the role of Frank Butler in the Crucible’s production of “Annie Get Your Gun”. He also acted in the original UK cast of “Love Me Tender”, whereas starred in “Forbidden Broadway” and “Candide” at the Menier Chocolate Factory.

In the spectacular production of London Westend, Kelly Mathieson has made her West End debut. She is trained at the Scottish Ballet Company and the Royal College of Music.  Some of her major works are “Le Nozze de Figaro”, “Agrippina”, “Orpheus and the Underworld”, “Die Zauberflöte” and “Carmen”.

Jeremy Taylor is renowned for previous theatre credits are London westend’s ‘Fiyero’ in “Wicked” and ‘Galileo’ in “We Will Rock You”. He also performed in the UK tours of “Evita” and “The Sound of Music”. He is also working hard in the Palladium production. Amy Manford is an international soloist with the London Handel, London Cello and the Perth Symphony Orchestra’s. She graduated with a Masters of Performance in Vocal Performance from The Royal College of Music and made her West End debut with The Phantom of the Opera.

Other cast members are Lara Martins as ‘Carlotta Giudicelli’, Siôn Lloyd as ‘Monsieur Firmin’, Mark Oxtoby as ‘Monsieur Andre’, Jacinta Mulcahy as ‘Madame Giry’, Paul Ettore Tabone as ‘Ubaldo Piangi’, Georgia Ware as ‘Meg Giry’ and Scott Davies as the standby ‘Phantom’. Some new members are Matt Bateman, Jade Davies, Hannah Grace, Andrei Teodor Iliescu, Jordan Simon Pollard, Una Reynolds, Emily Smith, Rachel Spurrell and John Stacey.

Beautiful and immensely talented Broadway soprano Ali Ewoldt is currently portraying the role of Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera. The stunning actress is all set to lead the new vlog of Broadway.com's, Dear Daaé. It is all set to commence from January 9, 2018. The vlog will showcase the backstage as well as onstage act of Ewoldt and her co-stars at the Majestic Theatre. The award winning blockbuster show is adapted from the 1910 haunted novel penned by Gaston Leroux. The story of The Phantom of the Opera is about a deformed composer who lives beneath the Opera house and haunts the grand Paris Opera House. Ashamed of his appearance, he lives in an underground cavern, and tutors and composes operas for Christine Daaé portrayed by Ewoldt. Daae is stunning and gorgeous young soprano star-to-be. With the success of Christine, a handsome suitor emerges from her past which makes the Phantom grows mad with anger. He started terrorizing the opera house owners and company with his murderous ways. But, the beautiful soprano, Christine was mesmerised with the mystery man.

Some other great works of Ewoldt are performed on Broadway in Les Misérables and The King and I. In the 2010 national touring production of West Side Story, she also acted. Phantom of the Opera Speaks About his Memorable Moments

Brad Little, the veteran Broadway musical star starred in the first production of hugelt popular show The Phantom of the Opera in Shanghai in the year 2004.

Theatre lovers in China will also remember this great and power packed performer. After the end of his first performance, a group of Chinese fans met him for the first time. He quoted, “Many, many Chinese women were staring at me earnestly with their eyes full of tears.

They kept speaking to me in Chinese, as if I would understand. Of course, I couldn’t, but I could really feel what they were feeling.” For Little this was certainly a great moment as he is one of the major performers by all standards. He enacts the lead role of Phantom with so much of ease and perfection that people gets bowled over by his mesmerizing performance. For more than 2000 performances, he has acted as Phantom since the year 1996. Meeting such a great fan following in Shanghai was a memorable moment of this great performer.

 He further stated, “I will never forget that moment in Shanghai. I learned that many local people had to put aside three weeks of their salaries to buy a ticket. They almost couldn’t afford to buy anything extra – probably just a key ring to remember the experience of watching this show. The audiences in Shanghai really made me believe that they cherished the show much more than any other place we had toured before.”
