The brilliant musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic show, has made its blockbuster opening at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in Summer 2013. The show has been enjoyed by audience from all across the world. The exciting new family musical has been directed by multi-award winning director Sam Mendes. With heart touching music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman, who are renowned for some great musical like Hairspray and Catch Me If You Can, and the famous TV show Smash.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has been produced under the spectacular production of Warner Brothers and Neal Street Productions. The story is about an eccentric inventor and Factory owner Willy Wonka, who opens his factory doors for five lucky children. To avail this great opportunity, whole world starts looking for the golden tickets.

The final ticket goes to Charlie Bucket who becomes a part of the children who have been selected. Most of them are spoilt and over-indulgent kids. Charlie was accompanied by his Grandpa Joe, with whom he experiences the magic first hand of Wonka. After failing to follow the instructions, other kids meet sticky end for themselves.

The original score is composed by Shaiman and Whittman which drives you closer to original book. The book of the musical was written by award winning playwright David Grieg along with superb choreography from Peter Darling and Scenic designing by Mark Thompson.
