The magnificent Shaftesbury Theatre has a huge occupancy 1400 and categorized into three levels. The stunning theatre is positioned on 210 Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2H 8DP. For the panoramic view of the stage, it would be advisable to opt for the front of the rear section or towards the back of the front section. Theatre has been divided into Grand Circle, Royal Circle and Stalls.

 Shaftesbury Avenue is certainly one of the busiest and theatrical roads of London. The venue is also the abode of some other theatres such as Apollo and Lyric. The venue is also popular amongst the theatre goers and tourists, as it has some of the finest and affordable restaurants and bars. The area is located close to Leicester Square.  On the world famous Shaftesbury Venue, Shaftesbury Theatre was last to be constructed. In the year 1911, theatre made its debut as the New Prince’s Theatre and later on named as Prince’s Theatre. During the early days, theatre has occupancy of 2392 and was the largest in the capital. The current capacity of the theatre is 1400.

 During the initial few decades, the major highlight of Shaftesbury Theatre was D’Oyly Carte Opera Company who was hugely successful featuring some of the blockbuster productions of Gilbert and Sullivan’ successful comic operas. The record Label EMI bought the theatre in the year 1962 and renamed it as Shaftesbury Theatre.

 In the year 1974, theatre became a Grade II listed property. Some of the popular shows at the Shaftesbury Theatre are Westside Story and Rent.
