War Horse

The blockbuster London show, War Horse has been a National Theatre’s phenomenon with brilliant run on both London and Broadway. The success of this hugely loved show has been acknowledged across the globe. New London Theatre is currently running the houseful shows of the award winning London show.

The enjoyable London show, War Horse is adapted from the famous Michael Morpurgo’s novel. The bitter sweet saga of a young boy and his horse has been told with the usage of puppetry along with live action. Both the boy and the horse have been separated during the First World War. The heart touching saga has been enlivened up by the Handspring Puppet Company which features life size horse puppets.

The beautiful show is running with packed houses at New London Theatre since 2009. For an unbeatable and unmatched experience, the huge stage has enclosed the audience. The brilliant show has been adapted into a Stephen Spielberg movie.

The story of War Horse is set against the backdrop of the commencement of First World War in Devon. The show revolves around a young boy, Albert and his best friend Joey, a horse. To serve in the war in Europe, Joey has been sold. The epic journey commences which follows the reunion of both the best friends.

War Horse made its debut at the National’s Olivier Theatre and went on winning various prestigious awards and acclamations. This is regarded as one of the best London Shows, whereas the New York production is the winner of five Tony awards including Best Play. Nick Stafford has done a remarkable stage adaptation, whereas directed by Marianne Elliot and Tom Morris. New London Theatre is currently running the award winning and blockbuster show, Show Boat with packed houses! Daniel Evans’ Sheffield Crucible brilliant show has been revived in London Westend after the closure of one of the longest running London show, War Horse.

April 25^th marked the opening of Show Boat at the New London Theatre until 7^th January 2017. The show has undergone several revivals such at Adelphi Theatre in the year 1971 with stunning 909 performances. In the year 1990, the show came back to the London Palladium which was followed by Broadway transfer to the Prince Edward in the year 1998.

The 1998 production was honoured with the prestigious Olivier award for Outstanding Musical Production. In the year 2006, the show was hosted at the Royal Albert Hall. David White of From Here to Eternity fame has directed as well as musically supervised the blockbuster show. The show is set during the turn of 20^th century in US and beautifully exhibits lives and loves of three generations.

The show features some superb compositions by Oscar Hammerstein II and Jerome Kern such as ‘Bill’, ‘Make Believe’, ‘Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man’ and ‘Ol’ Man River. Alistair David of Sinatra at the London Palladium fame has choreographed the show. The show has been designed by Lez Brotherson, whereas lighting design by David Hersey and sound by Paul Groothius. The two hours and twenty minutes show is a must watch for people of all age  groups,

Some of the most power packed creative teams have created the exciting new show, School of Rock – The Musical. The story revolves around a failed wannabe rock star Dewey Finn. To make good fortune, he plans to steal his friend Ned Schneebly’s life and identity, after he was kicked out of his own band. The two hours and thirty minutes long show is recommended for 5+ kids.

The show, School of Rock – The Musical is all set to make its debut at New London Theatre in November 2016, with previews starting on 24th October.
