Royal Shakespeare Company’s spectacular London production, Matilda The Musical is running with packed houses at the magnificent Cambridge Theatre! The stunning London show marked its opening on November 2011 and since then regarded one of the hot favorite shows amongst London Theatre lovers. The hugely popular show Matilda The Musical is adapted from classic book which was published in the year 1988 by renowned children’s author Roald Dahl.

The awesome book is transformed into the super successful stage version and beautifully captured all the imaginations. The classic story book has also been adapted for the movie version in the year 1996 which was directed by Danny DeVito.

Dennis Kelly created the stage version of Matilda the Musical along with brilliant collaboration of award winning musician as well as comedian Tim Minchin, whereas Mathew Warchus directed the London musical. Rob Howell superb set designing has enliven up the saga of a little girl on stage with brilliant choreography by award winning choreographer Peter Darling.

Matilda the Musical is the winner of several prestigious awards and won accolades from both classes and masses. Some of the popular awards in its kitty are seven Olivier Awards which includes Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical (Bertie Carvel), Best Director, Best Theatre Choreographer, Best Set Design, and Best Sound Design.

Four young Matilda’s Cleo Demetriou, Kerry Ingram, Sophia Kiely and Eleanor Worthington Cox won the award for Best Actress in a musical. On March 2013, the broadway production of Matilda The Musical has also made debut at Schubert Theatre. Current cast of the London Westend show is David Leonard as the monstrous Miss Trunchbull; Haley Flaherty as teacher Miss Honey; Steve Furst as Matilda’s conman of a father Mr Wormwood, and Annette McLaughlin as Mrs Wormwood, Matilda’s mother.
