Travesties

Get set for a hugely anticipated London production, Travesties from 3rd February 2017! The show has earned great reviews at the Menier Chocolate Factory for a limited 12 week run. The latest revival of Tom Stoppard’s classic play under the direction by Patrick Marber has already  broken various box office records.

The show, Travesties is all set to make its entry to the Apollo Theatre in London’s West End. Award winning director, Patrick Marber is one of the most acclaimed directors  and has worked on notable plays like Three Days in the Country, The Red Lion and Don Juan in Soho as well as the films Closer, Asylium and Notes on a Scandal.

He has been honoured with some of the prestigious awards such as Olivier Award for Best New Play, the Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy and a Critics’ Circle Theatre Award. He has also directed the immensely popular stage and screen actor Tom Hollander in the lead role of Henry Carr. Hollander is renowned for his outstanding work in theatre, film and television such as everything from The Night Manager and In The Loop as well as A Flea in Her Ear and The Government Inspector. Other actors to join him are Amy Morgan as Gwendolen Carr and Freddie Fox as Tristan Tzara.

The rib tickling funny and creative play is the saga of Henry Carr. The story is about an elderly man who reminiscences the time he spent in Zurich during the First Wold War. At that time, he met with James Joyce, Tristan Tzara and Lenin.

The award winning show, Travesties is one of the most exciting transfers of 2017 to London Westend. The preview will start on 3rd February 2017, whereas it will open officially on 14th February 2017.

If you are an ardent fan of Tom Stoppard then this is certainly one of the greatest plays to be enjoyed on the West End.
