London Westend stage is all set to welcome the brand new stage play version of Khaled Hosseini’s acclaimed novel The Kite Runner this winter. The heart touching saga of friendship and conscience that goes beyond countries and cultures is all set to make its debut at Wyndham’s Theatre on 21st December 2016.

The classic and memorable heart touching tragic saga, The Kite Runner is about an unexpected friendship which develops between a rich boy and the son of his father’s servant. The show is set against the backdrop of a country which is on the verge of destruction, Kabul. The story commences with a kite flying tournament, where everyone was in a jovial mood. However, something unexpected was about to happen and neither Hassan nor Amir were aware about it. This will lead to complete transformation of their lives forever.

The turbulent history of Afghanistan in the last three decades has been portrayed in this show. The classic saga is a great depiction of betrayal and redemption and has thoroughly enthralled audiences across the country. American writer and three-time Elliot Norton Award-winner, Matthew Spangle of Albatros and Tortilla Curtain fame has created the show. The show is inspired from the original book penned by Afgan-American doctor and writer Khaled Hosseini. The book was released in 2003 and went on becoming a favourite in book clubs across the world. The book also topped the New York Times best seller list in March 2005. It was positioned there for more than two years.

British-Iranian actor Ben Turner will feature in The Kite Runner. Some of this renowned works are BBC TV series Casualty as well as film work such as 300: Rise of an Empire and Adulthood. Some other popular works are nurse Jay Faldren from Series 23 Episode 8 until Series 26 Episode 16 on BBC's Casualty and Louis XV in Doctor Who. The Kite Runner is certainly one of the most influential stories in the 21st century. From 21st December 2016, the previews of The Kite Runner will start at Wyndham’s Theatre and will run until 11th March 2017.
