the dazzling Dreamgirls musical Glee powerhouse Amber Rile which is all set to
debut at London’s Savoy Theatre in November. The show is directed by Casey
Nicholaw, The Book of Mormon’s famed director. The hit Broadway musical, Dreamgirls
is the story of three young girls in their rocky rise to fame.
The story of
Dreamgirls is set during the era of 60s which showcases the developing era of Rhythm
and blues in Chicago. The show is inspired by Diana Ross and The Supremes and
follows The Dreamettes. During an amateur singing competition, they earn their
big break. The show made its debut way back in the year 1981 and went on
winning thirteen Tony Award nominations, earning Best Choreography and Best
Leading Actress in a Musical for Jennifer Holliday’s iconic portrayal of Effie.
In the blockbuster 2006 movie, Popstar
Jennifer Hudson portrayed the role of Effie. The movie also featured Beyoncé
Knowles and Jamie Foxx in pivotal roles. Catch the mesmerizing performance of songstress
