After an immensely successful UK tour, the brand new musical version of Kenneth Grahame’s classic saga The Wind in the Willows is all set to arrive at the London Palladium in the West End in June 2017. The timeless saga is penned by Julian Fellowes featuring music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

Fellowes is renowned for some of the hugely successful films and TV series like Gosford Park and Downton Abbey. His version of Mary Poppins has been a huge success on the stage as well as recent adaptation of the classic musical Half a Six Pence. The latter also earned huge acclaimation at the Chichester Festival Theatre. Since long time, Stiles and Drewe have collaborated with Fellowes, which includes both Mary Poppins and Half a Sixpence. They also won the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical along with three of the top prizes at the Musical of the Year Awards.

The popular show revolves around adventure-seeking, lovable menace Mr Toad known for its avid need for speed and action. When Mr Toad is put behind the bars, evil Wild Wooders over run his beautiful family home Toad Hall. It was under the leadership of Chief Weasel. Toad has some of his genuine friends good friends Ratty, Moley and Badger.

In the year 1908, The Wind in the Willows was first published by Kenneth Grahame and went on becoming hugely successful. This is one of the hugely popular children’s book which is adapted for stage, television, radio and film on numerous occasions. The title role of Mr. Toad is played by Rufus Hound who is a popular comedian, TV presenter and actor. He also stared in One Man Two Guv’nors and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Other wonderful performers are David Birrell as Badger, with Fra Fee as Mole and Thomas Howes as Rat.
