The
Audience
Apollo Theatre
is all set to welcome the blockbuster and spectacular production, The Audience
by Peter Morgan. The gripping sensational new London show is making its return
to the London Westend which stars Kristin Scott Thomas. Under the superb
direction of Stephen Daldry, the show is a complete treat to watch out for.
The plot of The
Audience is set during the era of Elizabeth II. It beautifully depicts the
roller coaster ride of Elizabeth II from young mother to grand mother. The two
hours and twenty minutes show gives the audience an interesting insight into
the second Elizabethan age.
Elizabeth II met
all her twelve Prime Ministers for sixty years during a weekly audience which
is held at the Buckingham Palace. The meeting is private and quite unique as
both there is a mutual agreement between both the parties that they will never
repeat the statements made to anybody, not even to their partners.
The sensational
new London show The Audience breaks this silent contract and presents some
significant meetings between the Queen and incumbents of Downing Street. The
conversations made here are sometimes intimates, whereas explosive as well.
The gripping
show finely depicts how all the Politicians come and go, whreas the Queen was
constant and ready to welcome the next Prime Minister.
