The sensational
new London musical, Kinky Boots is inspired from the 2005 British movie! The
story is based on the real life saga featuring music and lyrics by Cyndi
Lauper, whereas book by Harvey Fierstein! The brand new London production,
Kinky Boots will be directed as well as choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.
During the 2013
awards ceremony, the show won impressive six Tony awards which include Best
musical and Best Score. The story of Kinky Boots is set against a failing
British shoe factory, where the young proprietor Charlie and a drag queen, Lola
forms a friendship and she assists him in turning his business around.
The unique
collaboration started creating custom made shoes for drag queens. Kinky Boots
feature some of the chartbusting compositions such as “Sex is in the Heal”,
“Everybody Say Yeah” and “Land of Lola”.
Lauper, an
American singer/songwriter and actress of 80 became the first woman to win Best
Score in solo category. Some of her popular hits are “Girls Just Wanna Have
Fun” and “Time After Time”. Jerry Mitchell, the winner of Tony award has been
applauded for his superb choreography. He was also the director and
choreographer of Legally Blonde: The Musical and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
The original
production of Kinky Boots in Broadway Starred Stark Sands and Billy Porter as
Charlie Price and Lola/Simon respectively! The show preview will start from 21st
of August 2015 at Adelphi Theatre!
